What Is Revival? Print E-mail

"Revival is divine intervention in the normal course of spiritual things.  It is God revealing Himself to man in awful holiness and irresistible power.  It is such a manifest working of God that human personalities are overshadowed, and human programs abandoned.  It is man retiring into the background because God has taken the field.  It is the Lord making bare His holy arm, and working in extraordinary power on the saint and the sinner."

 --Arthur Wallis, In the Day of Thy Power

This site contains sermons and interviews with speakers from the 2008 Revival Conference held in Lilburn, GA.  The conference was a simple, apostolic, yearning for a genuine biblical revival in our day.   Each speaker focused on different aspects of revival and what it means to the church, and how the church participates with God in bringing revival.

We invite you to listen to the sermons, as well as the related interviews and worship music.  Let us know what you think about the materials presented here as well as your thoughts on revival.  Please take a moment to set up an account at the left if you would like to receive updates on this project.

Take a moment to listen to the Prayer for the Nations spoken by seven pastors in seven languages, which can be downloaded in audio or video format; please take a moment to pray with the men, and join us in watching how God answers the seven pastors' prayers, and all those praying with them around the world.

Please check back for more revival-related interviews and music, and also a documentary film that summarizes the material presented coming soon.

Today, more than ever, we must beseech God to honor his word in Isaiah 59:19, "So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him."  Our country, our world is flooded with evil, and we desperately need God's standard, God's banner, God's flag--the Lord Jesus Christ--lifted up against the evil seeking to devour every nation and every tongue.

Words on Revival Print E-mail

Powerful words to spark revival in our hearts.

"When God intends great mercy for His people, the first thing He does is to set them a praying."  Matthew Henry

"Truly, I tell all of you with certainty, the one who believes in me will also do what I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it."  John 14: 12-14 -- "When Scripture speaks of ‘men who have given their lives for the Name of the Lord Jesus,’ or of one ‘ready to die for the Name of the Lord Jesus,’ we see what our relation to the Name must be:  when it is everything to me, it will obtain everything for me.  If I let it have all I have, it will let me have all it has."  Andrew Murray, "With Christ in the School of Prayer"

"Thou art coming to a King,

 Large petitions with thee bring;

 For His grace and power are such

 None can ever ask too much."

                 J. Newton

"When revivals cease to flow from the mercy of God, judgment must come."  D.M. Panton

"And if Christians are not awakened, they may know assuredly that God will visit them with His judgments.  How often God visited the Jewish church with judgments because they would not repent and be revived at the call of His prophets."  Charles Finney

"It is good for us to draw nigh unto God in prayer. Our minds are grieved to see so little attention given to united prayer by many churches. How can we expect a blessing if we are too idle to ask for it?  How can we look for a Pentecost if we never meet with one another, in one place, to wait upon the Lord? Brethren, we shall never see much change for the better in our churches till the prayer meeting occupies a higher place in the esteem of Christians."  C.H. Spurgeon
